ABOUT THE GROUP

Fareham Writers began as a group in 2001, initially meeting in each other’s homes.
As the number of members grew, bigger premises were needed and the group moved to a regular meeting location.
The aim of the group is to write for the joy of writing, for the pleasure of creating work and pushing ourselves to achieve standards that might be more difficult if we were working alone.
Mutual encouragement and working with others who share the same passion - although not necessarily the same opinions - is a tremendous help.
Face to face criticism of another’s work can be a thorny area. Luckily, we have a balanced selection of members who both trust each other (important if you’ve put your heart and soul into something), but who will voice their true opinions.
